My name is Yasuaki Samidare. I am a Japanese-Lebanese American, and I moved to the state of Maine at a young age. I reside here today. The pronouns I use are he/him. I identify as gay.

I’ve produced music for numerous TV shows and video games, as well as independent albums, including the Neocity and Graduation Ceremony EPs. I also work at a call center, as demand often fluctuates and I prefer to have stability. Notable works that I have produced music for include Left For You and the television series Adrift, as well as the works listed within the Yaki Project pages. I also help mix and produce some of Zenith (Nia Allen)’s music if I can fit it in.

Recently, I have been taking a short break from the music scene to focus on my mental health. I expect to be back sometime next year. I hope you will understand.

The Yaki Project is a small, ongoing project by myself and a few close friends to regularly update a vocal software that I created using my own voice clips. The featured character is Yaki, an octopus-themed idol with that software's voice, adjacent to projects such as Vocaloid.

Yaki's vocals have been used in the 2012 album Tokyo Undersea and the lead track of the same title. I wrote, mixed and produced this album. He has also helped provide background vocals for several independent video games. A list of notable appearances of his can be found here.

Because Yaki is so personal to me and I cannot handle the release of such a difficult project with the team I currently have, I don't intend to release his voice files publicly just yet. However, I will send them to you, as well as the setup program, if you contact me via email or Discord at xtuas#7667. For free, of course. Be warned that I may be selective if I'm not aware of your intentions. I apologize for the inconvenience, but this is to ensure no negative or offensive uses of Yaki are made.

However, new developments are being made towards a universal program release! Yaki now has his own setup screen and an easier-to-use interface within the beta program, which is running v1.04 as of September 19th, 2020. Thank you, all, for your help!

Yaki has been utilized in over 100 songs by other producers, but I did not impact their creation. Some notable songs that fall under this category include Cyberpunk Blitz by metascore, a personal favorite of mine, and Echo Ruin and Echo Rain for the soundtrack of a video game that has yet to be announced.
